The Dress
The Anya is a 1930's-inspired embroidered tulle gown that will make you feel one-of-a-kind. This dress was made with love by the uber-talented Jennifer Gifford, and worn with delight.
The 3/4 length sleeve is light and lovely to wear, with a boat neckline, slightly open back and godet train to complete the feel of timeless elegance.
I was so comfortable, and felt a million dollars in this gown on my wedding day. I would love for someone else to have the same joy.
The official colour is silk white, but is slightly cream in its tone. This dress is only made in one fabric/colour. Although difficult to appreciate in photos, there is a sprinkling of subtle bead work in the embroidery, so that the dress also has a gorgeous shimmer with movement under light.
I wore this dress with a made-to-match nude stretch skirt (which is offered with the dress at no additional fee) and cupped backless bra. It can also be worn with a nude or ivory dress slip, strapless or with spaghetti strap.
You'll find lots of additional photos of the Jennifer Gifford Anya dress online, which show different ways to wear the dress in terms of under-garment.
There is a button to pin up the train for your first dance.
The Anya is one of Jennifer Gifford's most popular designs, but because she only makes a limited number of dresses each month, they are rare treasures.
This gown was made to measure, but I'm a pretty standard size 10, and 180cm. The dress was worn with flats.
This dress has been professionally dry-cleaned by Leon's Fine Dry Cleaning in Brisbane (recommended by Jennifer Gifford for her gowns).
There are two small defects, of which I can provide close photographs on request:
1. There is a small tear in the tulle at the front hem of the dress that is approximately 10cm in length, but only extends a few centimetres up from the hem, so that if the dress was being hemmed to a shorter length, this defect would be cut off anyway. A dressmaker may also be able to repair.
2. There is a small stain at the back of the train, three light brown patches, all
