The Dress

This was the second dress I tried on and I just fell in love with it. It is a beautiful ivory dress with detailed beading that tapers down to a soft tulle at the bottom with a small train. The bead work is very intricate and all done by hand. It was just the most flattering dress for my figure and I felt so comfortable in it all night. We had a rustic garden/boho ethereal type wedding and this dress suited that to perfection.

I am usually a size 12 but the size 10 fit perfectly and held me together in all the right places. I would say the dress is probably closer to a size 11.

I bought it from KWH in Armadale for $2989 and the veil (which is included if you would like it) was $250 and is in gorgeous ivory tulle. I paid $495 for the dress to be hemmed but I am 5'8" and had heels on so they really only took a few cm's off the bottom so would be perfect for someone taller or to get the dress hemmed if it is too long.

I also had alterations done to the arm holes as KWH tends to make them very narrow so just got those altered a little. I also had a bustle put in so that after the ceremony I could tie up the train and dance all night without the bottom of the dress getting ruined.

I had the dress professionally dry cleaned at Syndal's Bridal Cleaners for $480 and have a certificate for that so no cleaning is necessary and looks brand new with no marks or stains. They clean it all by hand to make sure there is no damage to the bead work. There are a few very small pulls in the lining of the dress at the very bottom but are not visible once the dress is on. To be honest it actually looks cleaner and in better condition than my wedding day.
