The Dress

This dress is a fairytale! It is whimsical and sexy at the same time. It is the Francesca Miranda Aurora dress from Spring 2017.

The dress was made from layers of Italian tulle with butterflies that were hand embroidered with silk threads. The lining is made in a French lace, and all the crystals used on the gown are Swarovski. The material underneath is a silk chiffon and Francesca Miranda refers to the gown as ivory.

The gown has 3 layers underneath the lace. They are different shades of nude. The tulle in the back creates a deep v on your back. There is a very small train (very small) but with the tulle there is a bigger train (see photos). The tag inside the dress says 70% silk and 30% polyamide. The dress was made by hand in Colombia.

I customized this dress and made the tulle removable. I added a space in the front so the tulle would flow behind, and I added two linings to the dress so I could wear it without the tulle (so it now has three linings). I did have the dress taken in around the waist and sides (possibly down to more of a 2?) and it was taken in up top as the tulle in the front with the butterflies was too long for me. I also had the dress shortened. I am 5'5" but wore 4.5" heels and it touched the ground. The tulle is two layers but it is all different lengths, which is so pretty when you walk. It was great to take it off for the reception!
