The Dress

* Background story about my wedding:

Hello, my Name is Maricel Basallote. My wedding day was for Saturday, June 6th, 2020. As we all know, Covid-19 hit that year. I was hoping that it would be gone by our wedding day but unfortunately, it did not.

Long story short, our wedding date was cancelled. However, both my husband and I decided to still get married in August 2020, without the whole celebration kit. I decided not to wear my wedding dress on our wedding day because my husband and I made plans to have an official wedding celebration for the year 2022. Well, that also did not happen. God had other plans and I gave birth to our first child in May, 2022. Fast forward to this year, the wedding dress is still in my closet, unused.

Sale it fast! Make more closet space!!

* A little background wedding dress story:

The wedding dress was purchased in January 2020 at Ivoire in Montreal, Quebec. A deposit was left and the rest of it was paid in full in March.

* Description of the wedding dress:

* For reference:
I am 5'6 and back in 2020, I weighed 150lbs. I am quite robust. I have curves and thick thighs. Back then, I wore a 38B bra size.

* How I describe the wedding dress:

In all honesty, my intentions were to find a ballgown wedding dress. I love to dance; I am on the thicker side and I am not a huge fan with clothing that sticks so tight to my skin.

Well to my surprise, this wedding dress caught my dad's eyes and mines! It was out of my price range but something in me kept telling me just to try it on. And so, I did. With the push of my dad and mom's approval, I tried on the dress.

It was perfect! After a long search, I finally found the dress! Never in my lifetime, would I have thought to wear a mermaid style wedding dress! Never! It was perfectly form fitting to my body. Floral embroidery throughout. The dress had the right amount of sheer. The floral details throughout the whole dress was simply lovely. The neckline was simple yet elegant. It has a little bit of mesh in the cleavage area. For me, it was the right amount mesh to kind of show of the girls but not too much. On the back of the dress, there are white buttons and I would say the train is on the short size but trust me it stands out!

* Additionnal information:

The dress has been kept in it's original garment bag, in my closet, for 3 years. The train seems a little crampled up due to the fact that it was kept in the garment bag. The original tag is still attached to the dress. There are inner straps to help keep the dress in place while hangging on the hanger.

No alterations has been done to this dress.

Lastly, the dress was paid in full. The total amount was 2471.96$ CAD tax in.
