The Dress

Eliza Jane Howell "Jayne" Dress in Antique Silver from the "Decadence" collection – hand beading, sophisticated glamour and a splash of old Hollywood beauty.

The Jayne dress is white with silver beading throughout, a flattering V-neck and V- back, butterfly capped sleeves, floor-length with a puddle train.

Originally purchased in 2016 for €3400.

I chose this dress because I was looking for something as close as possible to Kate Moss' John Galliano dress for her 2011 wedding, and was desiring a 1930s Old Hollywood Glamour look.

My Jayne dress was so incredibly comfortable to wear, and not heavy at all, despite the extent of the beading.

I am 5"10/179cm and wore 9cm heels on my wedding day. No alterations have been made to the dress length, however many brides choosing the Jayne have the hem shortened to better suit their height.

Length of dress from shoulder to skirt edge:
Front: 158cm/62inches
Back: 199cm/78 inches

There are some beads missing on the back of the train (see photos) and a few missing beads on the left shoulder, but these are only visible upon very close inspection.

Despite professional cleaning, there is some slight discolouration to the edge of the tulle skirt (see photo).

Alterations

The dress was taken in around the waist, so this dress will have a slightly slimmer fit than the unaltered Eliza Jayne Howell size 10.

The dress measurements (taken while the garment is laid flat) are:

Bust (underarm to underarm): 42cm/16.5inches
Waist: 36cm/14inches
Hips: 42cm/16.5 inches

Discrete fastenings were added inside the dress under the shoulder and at the back zip closure to prevent bra straps coming out of place.
